The results showed that individuals who adhered to a plant-rich, low saturated-fat diet had significantly lower levels of psoriasis severity compared to those who did not follow this pattern.

The researchers propose several potential mechanisms by which a plant-rich diet may help alleviate psoriasis symptoms. For example, polyphenols and omega-3 fatty acids present in plant-based foods may have anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce inflammation associated with the condition. Additionally, a plant-rich diet is often characterized by higher fiber intake, which can promote healthy gut bacteria and contribute to a reduced risk of chronic diseases.

While more research is needed to fully understand the relationship between dietary patterns and psoriasis severity, the findings suggest that incorporating more plant-based foods into one's diet may be a useful adjunctive therapy for individuals living with psoriasis.
